Spring Book Fair 2014- A Huge Success. Thanks to all who helped make it so successful. We had two of the best book fairs in Summit history this year. Students helped raise approximately 3,000 for their library. We donated many books to classroom libraries with our Taco vs. Nachos contest, in which we raised approximately $55.00. Students participated in a poster raffle, Bookfair Bingo, created wishlists, daily booktalks, and met a 70,000 minute reading goal. To reward students for reaching their goal classroom teachers will have a "Book Siesta" for students when the weather gets warmer. The Siesta will involve students going outside for a reading break. See below for highlights from the fair.

Spanish Club: Amigos y Libros ("Friends and Books")

These are our Spanish Club members who brought in their favorite book to inspire other students to read more. We posted these pictures on a bulletin board outside the library during the book fair.

Another great book fair. Thanks to all came out to support us. Our two book fairs are how we get the majority of our money to buy new items for the school library. We appreciate all the volunteers, students, parents, teachers, and administrators for supporting our fair. Throughout the week students kept track of their minutes read as they were working toward their 100,000 minutes goal. Principals agreed to be mummified if we reached it! Students also participated in wish lists, book talks, a poster raffle, 6th graders built a pyramid with their favorite book fair books, and teachers participated in a Teacher Wish List. LOTS of FUN activities.
